BBC Three has closed the doors on drama Lip Service after two series on the air.
The show, about a group of gay women in Glasgow, scored high ratings when it debuted in 2010, but soon saw the numbers dwindle as it got relocated from Tuesday to Friday in the network's schedules.
Executive producer Harriet Braun has said that no reason has been given for the decision.
"Sadly BBC Three have confirmed there won't be a 3rd series of Lip Service," she said. "A huge, huge thank you to all the fans for all your support xx."
When asked why the show was ending, Braun said she has not been told.
Laura Fraser, Ruta Gedmintas, Fiona Button and Heather Peace starred in the show.
The last episode, screened in May last year, attracted only 239,000 viewers; a mere third of the number who tuned in to the first season.
