'It Was Like I Was In Training' Amanda Seyfried Speaks Out About Les Miserables Diet

She gave up caffeine, dairy and alcohol to keep her voice tip top

It sounds like everyone involved in Oscar nominated film 'Les Miserables' made some pretty big sacrifices - and Amanda Seyfried, who plays Cosette, was leading the way!

Amanda told Grazia magazine "I started working with a voice coach in August 2011. I gave up caffeine, stopped drinking as much alcohol, gave up dairy...it was like I was in training."

She explained that getting Cosette's character right was so important to her that she changed her behaviour off camera. "It's weird playing this virginial angel. I am not at all like Cosette. So I felt this responsibility to be a more discreet version of myself on set."

Amanda has been fascinated by the story since she was a child, and her obsession has fuelled her commitment to the project. "I was only 11 when I first saw it, and ever since I've been hoping and wanting to be a part of it."

"Playing Cosette is proof that life has a way of making things come full circle if you want something badly enough.

"I wanted the role more than anything I've ever wanted in my life."

Do you think Amanda's dedication has paid off? If you've seen the movie, tell us what you think!
