As we reminisce about season three of Downton Abbey which graced our screens late last year, it appears that the American audience are chomping at the bit for the hit period drama to return to their screens.
Ahead of its premiere on PBS on Sunday, the drama has pleased critics who have praised the show and it's storylines, which includes Lady Mary and Matthew Crawley finally getting married and the arrival of Lady Mary's American Grandmother, played by the iconic Hollywood actress Shirley McLaine.
Credting the period drama which hams been nomintated for a handful of Golden Globe awards, USA Today's Robert Bianco commemted:
"It's hard for a series this well-acted, and filled with this many well-developed and justifiably well-loved characters, to be anything less than entertaining."

However, it is not just critics who are getting excited for the show as fans have taken to Twitter ahead of the premiere.
