Taylor Swift (Born December 13, 1989) is an American singer/songwriter who has sold over 26 million albums around the world and won seven Grammy Awards, 15 American Music Awards and 11 Country Music Association Awards. She is best known for mega hits including I Knew You Were Trouble and Shake It Off. Taylor was raised in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania before moving to Nashville, Tennessee age 14 so she could pursue a career as a Country singer. Releasing her debut, self-titled album in 2006 she exploded onto the scene, picking up a nomination for the Best New Artist at the 2008 Grammy Awards. Her second album Fearless became the best selling album of 2009 in the US, won four Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year, making her the youngest ever winner. Third album Speak Now dropped in 2010 and continued her run of success, selling over one million copies in it’s first week. Fourth album Red, released in October 2012, saw the star move away from Country and experiment with rock and pop influences. Singles We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together and I Knew You Were Trouble were both international hits and saw her break charts around the world, including in the UK. Red sold 1.2 million copies in it’s first week, the biggest sales for a decade. In August 2014, Swift confirmed her fifth album 1989 would be released in October and would be her first official pop record. Away from music Taylor has become well known for her high profile romances, many of which become subjects of her music. She’s previously dated John MayerJake Gyllenhaal, Harry Styles, Taylor Lautner and Joe Jonas. Taylor is close friends with Selena Gomez, model Karlie Kloss and Girls actress Lena Dunham and has credited them all, at some point, with keeping her grounded.
