Prince William (born June 21, 1982) is the first born child of Prince Charles and Diana, Princess of Wales and is currently the second in line to the throne, after his father. His full name is William Arthur Philip Louis, Duke of Cambridge. William went to four schools including Eton, before heading to St Andrews University where he got a 2:1 in Geography. During his gap year, William spent time in Chile, Belize, Tanzania and Kenya.
After university he entered the British military where he became an officer and pilot. As second-in-line, he was not allowed to fight on the front line and instead trained to become a Search and Rescue pilot. He served in North Wales for a number of years before taking a break in September 2013. In August 2014, it was confirmed he was taking a new pilot role with the East Anglia Air Ambulance, due to begin in Spring 2015.
Prince William’s life was changed forever, when in September 1997 his mother died in a car crash in Paris.
The Prince became a bit of a heart-throb during his teenage years and who he dated became front page news. He met Kate Middleton at University, with the pair starting to date in their second year. After an on/off relationship they finally became engaged in October 2010, their wedding on April 29, 2011 was watched by a global audience of two billion.
The couple welcomed their first child, Prince George of Cambridge on July 22 2013. On September 9, 2014 it was confirmed they were expecting their second child.
