John Mayer Takes Credit For Jennifer Aniston's Obama Cake

Baking row hots up...

John Mayer is still playing the joker, this time claiming that he and girlfriend Jennifer Aniston are in couples counselling after she took all the credit for a cake that they baked together.

During her recent appearance on Oprah Winfrey's talk show to promote new flick Marley & Me, Jennifer proudly showed off photos of a patriotic cake she said she made for an election night party.

But John - who is a keen baker - insists the sweet treat was a combined effort.

He says, "Jen and I made that cake together...She didn't really give me any credit for that cake. I was the architect on that cake. I put a lot of my time in designing that cake.

"I was a good man...shared the process. From mixing to frosting...(and she) took all the credit."

What a wag, eh?

The rocker jokes that Jen's cake claims have sent the couple to counselling.

He tells U.S. news show Extra, "There's some trouble but we're getting over it...We're having therapy everyday in Brentwood...and we're figuring this out because that was my time to shine on Oprah."

There's only one way to solve this - we demand a live bake-off!

  • he will say, do or mention anything....name drop anyone to gain publicity. Why ? because on his own people think he sucks. Currently he is acting and copying the appearance of Jen's future husband# before they marry. That is how low it is.

  • I think John Mayer is cute, funny, and really in-love with Jennifer Aniston. And he can sing too! I hope they make it both to the alter and have a kid or two too. I hope Jennifer will be very happy and that John will always be in-love with her, and never leave her.

  • Elaine : you are being controlled by a company that manages them both. I KNOW what is going on. John and Jen are not in love or anything of the sort. It is a game until she marries her real partner. I know because I work in the film industry.

  • Okay laptop33, I'll bite... who is Jen's "real partner" if not John Mayer? And why hang out with each other, bake cakes together, go out to dinner, even share Thanksgiving together, if their not really interested in each other? Oh and, "being controlled by a company" for what reason? To make me like them, watch them, and read about them? If that's it, your right, I am being controlled! LOL

  • they didnt share Thanksggiving together and basically this is to give people like you something to read until she marries. That is reality. Mayer and Aniston are under contract of one of the most powerful agencies in the world: CAA. They control this situation. They are "friends" not lovers and their goal is to imply a relationship. The name: wait and see.

  • Elaine : yes it is true, they are making a mask. This is the company : www.caa.com, fyi. John is acting. He is a placeholder. He even has adopted the same dress style as Jen's real future partner, who is not an actor but does work in film. I mean, he is copying the other guy nearly exactly. Just like he copies Dave Matthews, shamelessly, for a career that he bored of.

  • You guys need to check OMG website.....a JMayer fan from CT saw them together and she got autograph from both of them.....Sunday 11/23.........Thanksgiving week. She might have flown back to LA earlier but they were in CT where JM's parents live.......they got away from the paps (good for them).....had I not found this comment from a JMayer fan, I was not believing any of the stories about them......then comes the Obama cake story (really cute story)

  • As I was saying 20 hours ago, I'm way to private of a person to ever want to be a celebrity. And yes, I do believe that a lot of what is written about famous people is all made up, (I hope so anyway!), and that is why I would hate to be in the publics eye. I like to believe the good stuff about everyone and throw away the bad stuff I read. But still, it would be sad to have things made up about me and then written about!
