It's Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes – but not as we know them!

The Hollywood super-couple radiate old-fashioned matinee idol chic on the front cover of New York Style magazine.

The couple – who are regularly pictured on the streets of NYC as Katie continues to tread the Broadway boards in All My Sons – appear in the glamourous forties-inspired black and white shoot. Ahead the release of Tom's latest film Valkyrie.

It's great to see Katie departing from her usual low-maintenance dressed-down style - and we have to say Tom looks rather dapper too!

  • Yaow. She looks scary though. I mean the lighting looks authentic 40s but it's a rip off. And her face looks like it's dripping down and melting!!! Can't they do anything original?

  • One thing about 40s lightings you need the face to handle it. This shows how stubby and stubby Katie's profile is. :( I was hoping for something good I love the 40s. In Eli Stone she copied the Marilyn Monroe dance number move for move. RIP OFF!!
