The author of an anti-Scientology book is claiming that Tom Cruise influenced Amazon into pulling his book from its site.

The Top Gun star reportedly popped by Amazon headquarters in Seattle to view his new film Valkyrie - and has since come under fire for supposedly persuading bosses to stop selling an anti-Scientology title.

Author and former Scientologist John Duignan told The Sun, “I believe Tom Cruise influenced them.”

But both Tom's rep and Amazon are denying the claims.

“U.K. law gives us no choice but to remove the title from our catalogue,” Amazon said in a statement.

  • Tom Cruise's denial doesn't deflect that the Church of Scientology did file for John Duignan's 'The Complex' to be banned by Amazon and pulled from UK bookstores, nor does it remind us that the only Scientologist representative visiting the Amazon offices was Tom Cruise. Tom Cruise is lying; Just as he's denying any links to bribing Florida Federal Bankruptcy Judge John K. Olson in the Peter Letterese lawsuit and influencing German cabinet ministers from banning the Church of Scientology.

  • That's the way the cult operates and Amazon is too scared of them to admit the truth about the situation. It's fitting that after playing the part of a nazi tom would participate in this "book burning." The cult does this EVERY TIME something critical is written about them. They suppress free speech. Duignan has EVERY right to share what he experienced with readers. The truth about the cult is coming out and it won't be stopped. The harder they try, the worse it looks for them.

  • How does this munchkin and his cult have so much power over the world?! I mean, seriously. Why are these corporations or anyone for that matter, afraid of this cult.....I say F**k the Scientologist, and continue business as usual. Call their bluff and put it up anyway. People have the right to hear/read and consider both sides.

  • Based upon the documenatry film "The Corporation", Amazon is a sleazy company. People have been trying to get them to stop selling books on how to fight dogs, but Amazon claims they don't pull books. Yet they pulled this one. Amazon seems to either lie, or is hypocritical, or has 2 incompatible sets of rules it runs under.

  • It's really weird how people hate Tom Cruise so much and yet put so much attention on him. It's almost as though you live for it. Someone wrote: "The truth about the cult is coming out and it won't be stopped. The harder they try, the worse it looks for them." What truth? I haven't read anything new.
