After controversially admitting her favourite show is Sex And The City, sources close to Miley Cyrus have come to her rescue, revealing that she watches the sanitized version as opposed to the uncensored version.

Speaking to Vanity Fair in an interview coinciding with the now infamous ‘nude’ portrait, the 15-year old said she wanted her hit Disney show Hannah Montana to be more like the raunchy HBO programme, known for it’s candid sex scenes and explicit language.

However, a source close to the star say that the criticism she has received for her bold statement is unjust.

The insider tells People: "The show she watches is completely sanitized. She watches it on TBS (which broadcasts a watered-down version). [Miley's mom] Tish doesn't allow HBO in the house. They only have basic cable."

Another source adds: "People who know her know that she's trying to live a good life and know she has a good family and good faith."

miley cyrus did nothing wrong when she took the picture. it is not like she showed her butt or her body naked. It's not like shes being a Victoria Secrets Model . Come on cut the girl some slack her dad should be held responsible. It was his idea.it was supposed to be a shy child but she is too old to do that she should do a picture to describe her as an young woman.SHE is a strong woman. LEAVE HER ALONE!

I am a big fan of miley aka hannah. I think miley has known and learned a lot in a young age. she knows whats good and bad for her and most importedly her parents take good care and have faith in her and that is what matters. I think she looks really good in the picture. so all of you who think she has done wrong, GO TO HELL.
