Troubled pop star Britney Spears has reportedly spent more than half of her $100 million fortune.

Despite amassing millions and millions of dollars during her reign as pop princess, Britney has managed to blow a serious amount of money on her decent to her current sorry state.

However, Spears is now unable to do any further damage to her fortune for the time being - as her father Jamie had been granted control over her affairs following her stint in hospital for psychiatric evaluation.

A source tells the News Of The World, “There are massive holes in Britney's finances, according to Jamie. He can't believe it."

Her dad is doing the right thing. At the rate she was going she would have either been dead soon or at best broke. We have seen the end result when a pop star with severe mental illness does not get treatment. The end result is Michael Jackson. At least now Britney has a chance to avoid that sad fate.

Ever sincee Kevin came into her life, i knew there was trouble.. its not her fault she fell in love with a shmuck. Britney deserves so much better, and stupid people who talk crap about her should shut their mouths, she did nothing to anyone.Shes a person going threw REAL people shit! leave her the hell alone!

I think the paparazzi should leave Britney alone, she is in a bad way at the moment and needs her family and friends around her at this time. Everyone has bad times in their lives and everyone makes mistakes..even celebrities have mental or physical problems so why judge Britney more so? Just leave her be and let her get better! Britney has done superbly throughout her life and all the paparazzi can do is point out and broadcast worldwide the bad points! All the best Brit!..Keep ur head up!

I agree with Milly.Leave this girl alone and give her a chance to heal. What a heart-breaking decision for her parents to make to have her involountarily committed. Thank goodness they did.Sam Lufti is under investigation by LAPD Major Crimes Unit for possibly drugging her without her knowledge [which would explain some, if not all of her behavior of late.]This too will pass, Britney.You're a talented performer with many years ahead of you.Keep the faith!

it's not fair what she's doing to US. She rapes my tv, radio and internet.....she made the choice to be a media circus performer, and that's exactly what she is. There are MANY MANY celebrities with plenty of problems that choose to cope and deal with things without inviting the entire world into them.

This is to Carmen's comment, when she started this whole business she was only a little girl. She was put into the life of the media circus performer. She knew nothing else at that time, so she kept with it. It is not Britneys fault that American society loves to hear about someone else's tradegies, it's just how it works. She is a human just like me and you. everyone goes through it but everyone handles hardships differently. The media needs to leave it alone for a while.

i feel really sorry for britney she has had her children taken away from her and NOW she has these stalkers behind her 24/7 even if it is leaving one car to another they will get at least 50 snapshots. JUST LEAVE THE GIRL ALONE SHE IS A HUMAN BEING AT THE END OF THE DAY! only shes a singer and a celeb doesnt mean she cant live like a human. and NO she doesnt invite the whole world, so they can know her personal problems its the paparazi,and she even mentioned that in one of her songs!

Britney Spears should be left alone to live her life as she pleases as long as she is determined to be sane and able to live in society. As long as she is not a danger to herselves or others I could care less whether she invests all of her money or blows every cent. It's her money, she earned it. K-Fed did help himself to Spears money but the disappearing act of her money came after her divorce. You have mainly Osama Lufti and Ali Sims to thank for that. Osama Lufti has a serious drug habit and Ali Sims is nothing but a broke leech. Um yeah and now Britney Spears is also in the middle of a $17 million dollar IRS audit.
