Miley Cyrus’s father Billy Ray has apologised after the pair were filmed riding in a car without buckling up.

A scene in the starlet’s new concert movie Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best Of Both Worlds Concert Tour drew criticism from U.S. watchdog Consumer Reports earlier this week.

The footage features the 15-year-old teen star and her dad in the back of a Range Rover - with neither of them wearing required safety belts.

Billy Ray tells People: "We got caught up in the moment of filming, and we made a mistake and forgot to buckle our seatbelts. Seatbelt safety is extremely important."

omg can you give them a break. Americans are simply retarded with all their conservative views. In the past few months, all i've heard and read about miley concerns her posing "provocatively" or giving a bad example to kids. After seeing what these articles were talking about, i'm simply just laughing at America's stupidity. Miley and her dad are sitting in the BACK. She is 15 and im sorry but i wanna ask all of you how many of you buckle up when sitting in the BACK.

I know , she's 15 and I honestly don't. buckle up, when on the back sit, she's human people adn even worse a TEENAGER, she was really excited about her movie and her dad for her. my dad never wears does it either on the back seat. and it's not like it's the first time, there's lot's of movies where they are driving and not wearing it , so back off

If this is such a big issue i think We should be more concerned about why our school system allows children to ride the bus with no seat bealt. She probably learned it from there!

I think anyone should wear seatbelts anytime, no matter what seat, but I think making a big deal about the fact that they weren't buckled up is ridiculous. They were probably caught up in the moment and forgot. I don't agree with the thought that it's ok to not buckle up in the back, though. I'm sure in the future they will make sure they put on their seatbelts. This was not a big deal, though, and it was barely noticable in the movie...I sure didn't catch it!

If these smart ones wouldn't start to talk about the seatbelt it would of go totally un-noticed. Kids didn't and won't pay attention to such small detail. How many of you noticed it? I can't even recall the whole scene. Now what they really did, they just brought the tini-tiny mistake to the spot lights and made all the who knows how many millions of teenagers talking about it. Great job, idiots. They should learn that sometimes it is just better to keep quite about mistakes.

This girl seems to be under some crazy watch; the smallest mistake becomes "controversial". Not wearing seatbelts in a scene? WOW, big deal. I highly doubt any of the children watching would even notice it. As Jennifer said, all kids ride on the bus without seatbelts anyway so they're used to it already... THAT is something to worry about.

i'm a fan of hers and i agree that it's easy to forget to buckle up. But what if a papparazi car or fan came in front of the car outta nowhere? miley's car would have swerved to avoid contact and miley could've been thrown around and injured. or what if by some chance they were in an accident and miley was killed. i think a lot of people dont wear seat belts. This was cought only becuase she is very famous. Her dad is above 18 and if he is sitting in the back he can not wear his seat belt. But, then people like kids may follow them. So, yeah they should have worn a seatbelt!

wow. she is 15 years old, a professinal driver was driving so what is the bid deal? I dont see one at all. I almost never wear my seatbeallt when i am in the back. She is old enough. She shoulnt have to apploigizr for what millions of other kids that apeople are saying she is influences do it all the time weather H Miley Cyrus does it or not! God give her a break
