Avril Lavigne Ditches Fans For The Spice Girls

Gig-goers left out in the cold...

It’s claimed that Avril Lavigne cut short her own gig so that she could catch the Spice Girls on the Canadian leg of their comeback tour.

According to a U.S. publication the singer skipped out on a show in Burnaby, British Columbia after just two songs so that she could attend the formed girl band’s Vancover show.

Star magazine reports: “Avril Lavigne] arrived more than an hour late to her free outdoor concert in honor of the grand opening of the Best Buy in Burnaby, British Columbia, on December 2, and never apologized for leaving her fans to wait in the freezing, snowy weather.

"The 23-year-old performed just two songs, then darted off to the Spice Girls concert at GM Place in Vancouver. “It’s so unfair!” 14-year-old Avril fan Hannah Bryla said in reaction to her idol’s behavior. “It seems like her fans aren’t important to her.”

Good to see she’s still earning her place in our Biggest Losers Of 2007 list.

  • What the f**k, you are so full of crap for posting this article. Avril played for well over an hour, she played almost a whole concert for free. You can find a ton of video footage of it on youtube as proof search for "Avril Best Buy Burnaby" in Youtube or the video the section of any search engine and see all of the many videos of all of the songs Avril played at the free concert; they are proof that this article completely blows. Your article is a complete and total fabrication

  • I never thought she knew them til now. This is AWESOME that she saw them on perform and shes a fan. But she shouldn't have let her fans down though. But I don't blame her for that. Cause now shes cool.

  • Comment: I think that it was the severe weather conditions that 'decided' the unavoidable delay. Let's see what one of the fans have to say about the Best Buy Free Concert: "So I went to the Burnaby Concert on Sunday and let me just say, all of the waiting was soooo worth it. To see Avril live without being in a huge arena was an amazing experience. I was right in the front and I even got Avril's guitar pick that was thrown into the audience!! From: Avrilbandaids.com

  • Avril absolutely ROCKS!!!!! I've seen her in concert, and she's freakin' incredible. FAKE articles like this on the 'net are just PATHETIC. Who makes uup this crap??? She sang for nearly an hour in a goddamn blizzard for FREE. I would have paid $100 to go, but I don't live anywhere near there. Watch the YouTube videos of the Best Buy Burnaby concert. They're amateur quality, but some of them are pretty good. This website has ZERO credibility when it reports 100% FAKE stories like this.

  • SHE DID NOT SING JUST 2 SONGS! I was there, front row. She sang more then 4 songs. Look it up on youtube. She even sang frosty the snowman. Her fans are important to her! I even bought the same stype of scarf she wore at the concert. Its so cute. I LOVE HER STYLE!
